SWIMMING POOL CONTRACTORS

A swimming pool is the one element of a property where design, engineering and long term maintenance are impossible to separate. A pool that looks striking but was built with an undersized filtration system, or set at the wrong level relative to the terrace, becomes a permanent maintenance problem. We design and build pools as part of the wider property rather than as a separate item bolted on at the end.

What we do

We work as a single contractor across the whole cycle: concept and design, structural and hydraulic engineering, construction, filtration and water treatment, finishes, lighting, and the surrounding terrace and landscape. Handing a pool between a designer, a builder and a pool specialist is where most problems begin, because each stage assumes something about the previous one that was never written down.

Our scope covers private residential pools, indoor pools, pools built as part of a villa project, and commercial installations for hotels and leisure venues. Where a property already has a pool, we also take on renovation: relining, replacing plant, correcting drainage, and upgrading filtration to current standards.

Design decisions that matter later

The shape and finish of a pool are the visible decisions, but the ones that determine how it performs are less obvious. Water level relative to the deck decides whether you get an infinity edge or a conventional coping, and that choice drives the entire overflow and balance tank design. Circulation and inlet positions determine whether the water actually turns over evenly or leaves dead zones that need manual attention. Plant room location decides how audible the pumps are from the terrace.

Finish selection is equally consequential. Tile, mosaic, plaster and stone each behave differently with pool chemistry and with the temperature swings of the local climate, and each has a different repair path when a section fails. We specify these against how the pool will actually be used and serviced, not only how it should photograph on the day of handover.

Engineering and water treatment

Filtration is sized to the pool volume and the expected bathing load, not to a nominal figure. Under specified plant means chemically corrected water instead of properly circulated water, which shortens the life of the finishes and the equipment. We size pumps, filters and treatment for the real conditions, specify how the system is accessed for service, and hand over documentation that a maintenance team can actually work from.

Structural design follows the same logic. Ground conditions, water table, movement joints and waterproofing detail are settled before construction rather than resolved on site. In outdoor pools, thermal movement and sun exposure are part of the calculation, because both drive how the shell and the finishes age.

Costs, programme and what you receive

Before construction begins you receive a detailed specification, a fixed scope and a programme. We prefer to resolve the expensive decisions on paper, where changing them costs a drawing revision rather than demolition. Where a client is choosing between options, we set out what each one changes in cost, build time and long term running expense, so the decision is made with the full picture.

Because we also deliver interiors, landscape and fit out, a pool can be coordinated with the terrace, the outdoor lighting, the planting and the facade as one programme instead of several trades arriving in sequence and reworking each other.
